Jen Rice, PhD

Associate Director of Business Development, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Jen joined OTD in 2014. Prior to joining Harvard, Jen was a technology manager and special programs manager in the Office of Technology Management (OTM) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a technology manager, Jen managed a life sciences intellectual property portfolio for the university. Her responsibilities included working with university inventors to evaluate, market, and license their inventions, as well as educating the campus on the university’s technology transfer process and fostering corporate relationships. As a special programs manager, Jen directed the OTM’s well respected Commercialization Analyst Intern Program, consisting of graduate students from business, law, and science, and established a campus-wide gap funding program called the Illinois Proof of Concept (I-POC) Fund. Jen received her B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University and her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
