Maryanne Fenerjian, PhD, JD

Director of Technology Transfer Policy

Since 1999, Maryanne has worked in all areas of technology development at Harvard, beginning with business development focused on genomics, infectious disease, and oncology. In her current role, she ensures that the University’s technology partnerships comply with institutional and public policies and leads OTD’s effort to facilitate locally-affordable dissemination of Harvard medical technologies in developing countries. In addition, she works to secure, defend, and enforce patent rights that cover Harvard researchers’ innovations across all technology areas. Prior to joining Harvard, Maryanne served as a technical specialist for the law firm of Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. She has held postdoctoral fellowships in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and in the Department of Biology at Brandeis University. Maryanne holds a JD from Suffolk University Law School, as well as AB and PhD degrees from Harvard, the latter from the Department of Cellular and Developmental Biology (now MCB) of FAS.
