Single-board Tree Sap Flow Sensor

A key challenge in ecology, agronomy, and climate science is measuring  the sap flow of trees.  Currently available sap flow sensors are prohibitively expensive and are difficult to install. This invention is a dramatically improved approach to measuring sap flow.  The design is cheaper, easy to use, and more accurate than existing solutions.  Asa result, it’s likely to greatly expands the customer base, since for a wide range of scientists, sap flow measurement is cost prohibitive.  Currently available sap flow sensors are prohibitively expensive and are difficult to install. This new system is cheaper, easy to use, and more accurate. It greatly expands the customer base, as there are a lot of scientists that would like to add this measurement to their experiments but cannot afford the investment in time or money.
