MassChallenge alum (and Harvard startup) gets $1.5M grant for HIV drug resistance test

A recent Harvard startup and one of three dozen 2014 graduates of the Boston-based startup accelerator program MassChallenge has received a $1.5 million federal grant to further development of its diagnostic product for HIV drug resistance.

Aldatu Biosciences in Cambridge was one of 37 graduates of MassChallenge last May, as well as the Harvard Innovation Lab and MassBio's MassCONNECT program. Today, the company said it has received a direct-to-phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant of $1.5 million over two years, supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
