Advanced Air Mobility - The Future of Flight is Arriving in Unexpected Ways
September 19th, 2024 ~ 06:00pm - 08:00pm
SEC LL2.221, Science and Engineering Complex, 150 Western Ave, Boston, MA 02134, USA
This fireside chat between Peter H. Schmidt and John Williams will explore Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), NASA’s term for the air transportation system of the future, which they envision will include revolutionary options for high- and low-altitude passenger transport, cargo delivery, and public service capabilities. Six technology areas are key to AAM: High Speed VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing), Hydrogen Aircraft, Electric Aircraft, eVTOLs (electric), Autonomous Flight, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. We will discuss the technological advancements and limitations, regulatory challenges, and market dynamics that are shaping this future. Join us to understand how AAM is poised to upend travel norms, as well as military ops, by offering safe, sustainable, efficient, and speedy aerial transportation alternatives.
