Harvard Grids Lab-2-Market Series (9/3/25)

September 3rd, 2025 ~ 12:00pm - 02:00pm

The Node (SEC 2.203), 150 Western Ave, Boston, MA 02134, USA

Co-founder dynamics can make or break a venture, and most early teams don’t take time to proactively address potential misalignment before it spirals.

This session will open with a short, practical talk from Annie Garofalo, founder of Confidante. Annie will share the cofounder playbook on how to form, norm, storm, and (in some cases) adjourn co-founder partnerships. You’ll leave with tools for tackling common challenges and a better understanding of how to intentionally shape your co-founder relationship.

After the talk, we’ll open the floor to participant questions in our usual Lab-2-Market format with serial entrepreneurs Phil Green and Paul Hayre. Whether you’re in the thick of a tricky situation or just want to stress-test your idea, this is a chance to ask openly and learn from others.

Open to the Harvard community.

*Be sure to have your Harvard ID with you for event entry.

About the Speaker:

Annie Garofalo has dedicated her decade-long career to understanding team relationships. She draws from academic studies in relational and organizational behavior at Stanford (MBA & MA Sociology) and Harvard (BA Neurobiology), and professional experience as a founder (My Merkata), C-suite executive (Skylyte), investor and portfolio operations partner (MBA Fund, Stanford’s Impact Fund), and growth strategy consultant (Innosight).

At Confidante, Annie leads a co-founder relationship-building program designed to surface key differences before they become deal-breakers—addressing the top reason 65% of startups fail: co-founder conflict. Confidante supports founding teams from Pre-Seed to Series A and partners with top accelerators, including YC, Antler, and NFX.
