Thriving as We Age: Frontiers in Design

November 13th, 2025 ~ 05:30pm - 07:00pm

SEC (Room TBD), 150 Western Ave, Boston, MA 02134, USA

We are seeking speakers from diverse backgrounds to give short, high-impact talks about their work that challenge us to rethink aging as a design and innovation frontier. Apply to speak here, or reach out to luke_fiorante@mde.harvard.edu

As lifespans increase, so does the opportunity—and responsibility—to design for longevity. This fall, we’ll bring together students, researchers, and innovators across Harvard working on age-inclusive design: from physical and digital products, to healthcare innovation, to public policy.

This TED-style event will be moderated by Karen Reuther (Graduate School of Design) and feature short, high-impact talks showcasing the opportunity to design for a long, vital life. We aim to elevate awareness of aging as a design and innovation challenge, build community across schools, and inspire collaboration.
