Harvard Grid's Lab-to-Launch Lounge (10/12/23)
October 12th, 2023 ~ 04:00pm - 06:00pm
Maxwell Dworkin, Room G115, 33 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA
Join us this week as we sit down with Sanjay Sharma Timilsina, PhD, CTO and Co-Founder and Lead Scientist of Stata DX and Christian Reimer, PhD, Co-Founder and Head of Product of Hyperlight.
The Lab-to-Launch Lounge (LLL) series brings Harvard graduate students in CxO roles back to campus to hear how they launched their research out from Harvard labs:
- how did they get here
- what would they do differently--and what they would not do at all--if a student again
- anything else on your mind
Join the discussion, meet fun people, grab a bite, and leave with new ideas. Open to the Harvard community.
Bios:
Sanjay Sharma Timilsina, Ph.D., is the Lead Scientist at StataDx, a start-up from Harvard’s Wyss Institute, focused on developing and commercializing cost-effective and highly sensitive point-of-care devices for Neurological conditions. Sanjay received his Doctoral degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry
from the University of Texas at El Paso with Best Dissertation and Graduate award for Academic and Research Excellence. Sanjay has a decade of experience in Assay development and validation in microfluidic medical devices which enabled successful development of a multiplexed, electrochemical sensing technology, “eRapid” that has been licensed by Wyss Institute to StataDx. Sanjay is utilizing his experience under both academic and industrial settings to develop a near-patient diagnostic platform to support biomarker-guided therapeutic strategies for patients suffering from chronic conditions including
Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Traumatic Brain Injury at StataDx.
Dr. Christian Reimer is a physicist and entrepreneur working in the fields of nonlinear optics, integrated photonics and quantum optics. He received graduate degrees from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and the National Institute of Scientific Research in Canada. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University, before becoming Head of Product of HyperLight Corporation. HyperLight, a Venture-Capital funded start-up out of Harvard University, is specialized on integrated lithium niobate technologies for ultra-high performance photonic solutions.
