Mice homozygous for this targeted mutation are viable and fertile and do not display any gross physical or behavioral abnormalities. There is no identifiable phenotype in these mice. Expression is eliminated in the brain as determined by RT-PCR and Northern analyses, and in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence of spinal cord and retina.
