tetO-Gata6 Transgenic Mice

Gata6 Tg mice express GATA binding protein 6 (Gata6) cDNA under control of a tetracycline operator (tetO). Hemizygotes are viable and fertile. GATA6 is a zinc-finger-containing transcription factor involved in the regulation of early axial patterning, cellular differentiation, and organogenesis. Expressed is first seen at the eight-cell stage, and is predominately seen in forelimb buds and hindlimb buds in an anterior to posterior gradient in developing embryos. When mated to a mutant strain expressing tetracycline-controlled transactivator protein (tTA), expression of GATA6 protein may be regulated with tetracycline or its analog doxycycline (dox) in the double mutant offspring.
