Senior Staff Data Scientist
Dr. Daniel Day is a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Meta, and he is the technical lead on ranking of both the connected and recommendation components of the (News) Feed surface in the Facebook app. Daniel’s work focuses on optimizing the ranking algorithm to help users connect with the friends, family and public content they want to see on Feed. In his time as a data scientist at Meta, he has worked on a broad range of problems, including meta-analyses of A/B testing results, hyperparameter optimization and improving personalization of the Feed experience. Prior to joining Meta, Daniel received his PhD from MIT in computational biology (in the then Harvard/MIT MEMP/BIG program) and postdoctoral fellow work at the Whitehead Institute.
