Our Team

Thomas works with the Business Development team at OTD to evaluate and commercialize physical science and engineering technologies developed at Harvard. Thomas is an experienced scientist in the implantable biomaterials and tissue engineering space. He has startup experience with Sofregen Inc., where he led a team of researchers to develop novel tissue regenerative therapy by exploiting silk science developed at Tufts University. His efforts advanced the technologies through the clinical and regulatory pipeline resulting in two FDA approvals and a long-term clinical study.

Thomas holds a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, focused on Biomedical Engineering and Material Science from Tufts University. His research was in Professor David Kaplan’s group at Tufts where he developed silk-based tools to model fibrosis in vitro. He has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
