These Meox1-nucTagRFP-T-IRES-CE mutant mice have a tamoxifen inducible Cre-mediated recombination system and express the nuclear-localized Tag-RFPT variant of Red Fluorescent Protein under the direction of the mouse Meox1, mesenchyme homeobox 1, promoter. Transgenic RFP expression is not detected in wholemount embryos by fluorescence microscopy or immunohistochemistry. Tamoxifen inducible Cre recombinase activity is detected in Six2 (sine oculis-related homeobox 2 homolog (Drosophila) ) positive cap mesenchyme cells in the developing nephron at 15.5dpc.
